He also served as assistent professor at CMH Lahore medical college, teaching young doctors different surgery tehniques. Col. Safdar Awan, belongs to a very small village near Kharian named Jhantla and went to Govt. Central Model High School Lower Mall Lahore in his earlier days and he is also an old Ravian & Amcolian.
